Named after celebrated human rights activist Judi Chamberlin, Judi’s Room is a free event presented jointly by MindFreedom International (MFI) and I Love You-Lead On to facilitate opportunities for ongoing cross-disability dialogue.

The second Wednesday of the month at 7 PM Eastern/4 PM Pacific
It was a dream of Devva’s to expand Disability Studies from the ivory towers to spirit Disability Studies out of the ivory tower and share the information with everyone. Devva’s wish was to make it accessible to all. Jargon and acronyms will be avoided. There will be several parts to each evening, learning about Disability Studies and the history of disability, with time for questions, networking, and fun.

A time to tell our stories and share memories of others.
Justin Dart and his wife Yoshiko took road trips multiple times, across the country, sitting with disabled people in every state to hear their challenges, successes, and hopes. They brought these powerful stories to Congress, helping to turn shared dreams into the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Justin’s Room provides an opportunity to share and receive stories honoring this tradition, often with a featured storyteller about a person and topic to get things going each month.

This is a space that provides a regular platform for those working on or interested in disability history and culture collections to gather, stay informed, share information, collaborate when necessary, and support ongoing projects.
