We need storytellers – would you be one? Justin’s Room – Our Stories to Tell
Beginning January 21, 2026, every third Wednesday of the month at 7 pm EST. To register
A time to tell our stories and share memories of others.
Justin Dart and his wife Yoshiko took road trips multiple times, across the country, sitting with disabled people in every state to hear their challenges, successes, and hopes. They brought these powerful stories to Congress, helping to turn shared dreams into the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Now, as the elder leaders of the disability movement pass the torch, new leaders are stepping up. Every story matters, and our community is richer when everyone’s voice is heard and remembered.
Join us to share the stories that have shaped who we are. Bring your words, your poems, your art, your dance, your music, or video—whatever feels right for you. (About 8 minutes) If you want to share, let us know ahead of time, or just come and join the Zoom. The mic will stay open as long as folks have something to say. Every story is welcome.
ASL interpreted the first two hours, captioned, audio described when needed, and if you prefer your story read, we can do that. Let us know what accommodations you need.
Storytellers Include:
- January 21 @ Yoshiko & Justin Dart – Becky Ogle, Tony Coelho
- February 18 @ Alice Wong and Intersectionality- Petra Kuppers
- March 18 @ Bob Kafka and ADAPT – Alan Holdsworth
- April 15 @ Judy Heumann and Women’s Rights- Myra Kovary
